Corduroy Pants’ New Single Encourages You to Get the Help You Need

Lansing’s corduroy pants just joined the We’re Trying team and dropped a tear jerker out the gate with their new single “Wasps Nest”.

The track revolves around vocalist/guitarist Vic’s uncle who passed away from an intentional overdose in 2017. “Finding out the way I did impacted my life in ways I could never imagine and I’ve written about it probably too much at this point,” said Vic.

“Specifically about the signs of addiction I never noticed when I was younger, but now can see clear as day now. I’ve never been able to fully recover from the situation and I see him in everything I shouldn’t. Due to his death being self-inflicted I’ve just had the feeling of what could I have done to stop it, what if we had gotten to talk right before, and how come I didn't know it was that bad. I’ve lived with these feelings everyday.”

Key takeaways from the song for fans should include getting help with problematic addiction and getting help doesn’t make you weak. Pride should not end your life. You’ll never know who is going to have to pick up the pieces when you're gone.

“I want people to remember it's not your fault things happen and you can’t save everyone. But if you start to feel like you failed, remember you haven’t because you're still here for them living on.”
